This website is for java programmers or hobbyists alike. I have or am trying to put into one place a useful collection of sites on the net which can help a range of people from students to developers, and to be honest, I was sick of trying to remember all the sites I use for reference while away from the comforts of my own pc’s ‘favourites’ folder. The list will grow over time. If you have any suggestions for java or other programming related sites please let me know and I’ll try and add them. Click here to contact me.

Just for my own fun so I can look back, to the left is the first ever applet I wrote based on an exersice I saw in a Java book. It's just a simple game based on the game Craps (thats with the two dice before you say anything). Have a go. It does take me back. Since this I have written may small applets, a few of which can be seen on this site.

Note:

A number of websites use Java and JavaScript in the presentation, (I know JavaScript is different to Java (for those who know)). Although Java applets may run on some systems, others may not. One thing that may be required on your system for Java applets to run efficiently is the Java Runtime Environment (JRE). If for example, if you see a grey box above this wording where there should be a simple model of a dice game, then you need to download the JRE to get it to work. You can download it from Sun Microsystems 'Java' Site here, just open the page and click the arrow

Download Java Software for your desktop computer

It will take you to a page with instructions to update your java software. Just Click the 'Begin Download' button. It's free and if you have a broadband connection it shouldn't take long before you're enjoying the benefits.
